In April of 2018, Avenue Capital Group LLC, a New York-based investment firm with $9.4 billion in assets under management, announced plans to launch an impact investment fund.

Since its inception in 1995, Avenue has been a leader in global credit and special situations investing, across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

With Dr. Rodin acting as advisor to the fund, Avenue’s Impact Investing vertical—the Sustainable Solutions Fund—will seek out risk-adjusted returns by providing flexible capital to impact-focused companies in North America. The initiative will place an emphasis on sustainability verticals such as: Recycling, Agriculture & Water, Distributed Renewables, Energy Efficiency, Infrastructure Resiliency, and more. The goal: generating a positive social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.
